Aishwarya Desai is a physiotherapy resident who graduated from the University of Western in 2020 with a Masters of Physical Therapy. She also obtained a Bachelor of Science with honors in the fields of Biology and Medical Physiology from the University of Waterloo in 2018. She is currently a member of the Ontario and Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Aishwarya’s treatment philosophy focuses on delivering evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. She is excited to continually improve her skills and update her knowledge. Following her graduation, Aishwarya has obtained her Manual Therapy Level 1 certification as well as Level 1 Certification in The Physical Therapy Approach to Female and Male Urinary Incontinence(Pelvic Floor). Aishwarya’s treatment approach consists of using an active and hands-on approach that combines patient-education, manual therapy, and a personalized exercise program that will help her patients return back to their functional activities.
Aishwarya has worked with a wide variety of patient population, ranging from helping individuals suffering from adhesive capsulitis, low back pain, carpal tunnel, plantar fasciitis, post-operative rehabilitation, arthritis; cardiorespiratory conditions and neurological. Aishwarya’s expertise is Pelvic Health/Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy conditions and has helped patients with conditions such as Urinary and Fecal incontinence, retention, urgency, hesitation and frequency, Cystocele, Rectocele, Urethrocele, Ureterocele, Vaginismus, constipation, painful intercourse and Interstitial Cystitis. She also specializes in pre and post natal rehabilitation.
Aishwarya speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi and Marathi and would love to use this knowledge to provide the best possible care for her patients.
